For Debian, select the package depending on which libmpc you have available:

"trusty" 14.04 packages depend on libmpc 3
"precise" 12.04 packages depend on libmpc 2

Unlike proper Debian packages, the packages here install to /usr/local

The "~precise" package (for Ubuntu 12.04 or similar) depends on the lwtools package from https://launchpad.net/~tormodvolden/+archive/ubuntu/m6809 since the latter provides the ar,as,ld wrappers. This package depends on the libmpc2 package.

The other packages depend on the libmpc3 package. They currently include their own ar,as,ld wrappers in /usr/local/bin but will anyway not conflict with the lwtools package since that one ships them "properly" in /usr/bin.
